Beta Deal ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and store personal information, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Information you give us. If you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the topic you selected, the loan you were viewing if applicable, and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting and analytics collect technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page, and timestamps. This is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to keep it working.

What we do not collect. Using the comparison table and the calculators requires no account and no personal details. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to us or stored. We do not ask for or want your tax file number, account numbers or identity-document details.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry.
To put you in contact with a lender or licensed credit assistance provider, where you have asked us to.
To improve the site, its content and its tools.
To detect and prevent spam, fraud and misuse.
To comply with our legal obligations.

Who we disclose it to

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to a marketing list without your consent.

We may disclose personal information to:

a lender or licensed credit assistance provider, where that is the point of your enquiry and you have asked us to make the introduction;
service providers who help us operate the site — hosting, email delivery, analytics and spam protection — who are permitted to use it only to provide that service to us;
anyone else where you consent, or where we are required or authorised by law.

Some service providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site function and for analytics that tell us, in aggregate, which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential functions may stop working if you do.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep enquiry information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@betadeal.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will tell you if we cannot do what you asked and why.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@betadeal.com.au and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page with the date it was last updated at the top.
